My 2017 Holy Grail Beauty Products

December 31, 2017

I've always loved fashion and beauty, but this was the year that I really got into makeup. I'm talking I now wear it almost every day, which I definitely didn't do before this year. What this means is that I've bought a lot of makeup this year. Like, a lot of makeup. So before 2017 is over, I wanted to share with you my favorite beauty buys of the year.

*Disclaimer: all opinions are 100 percent my own. No one paid me to talk about these products with you; I just really like them!

The Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette ($38)

This was hands-down my favorite beauty product this year. The palette, which is a collaboration between beauty influencer Jaclyn Hill and Morphe, is so pigmented. It's honestly the perfect palette because it has shades ranging from neutrals to darks to reds to fun, expected colors like teal and glittery purple. The only downside is I don't see myself being able to travel with it because it's too big, but I'm willing to overlook that because the quality of all 35 shades is so good. And who knows, maybe I will travel with it anyway because I seriously don't know what I'd do with it.

Roller Lash Curling and Lifting Mascara ($24)

Unlike the Jaclyn Hill palette, Roller Lash did not come out in 2017. But I started using it this year, and I have no idea what took me so long. This mascara has become my go-to mascara. My lashes are naturally short and blonde, so it's hard for me to find a mascara that makes me look like I have nice lashes. I don't know what sorcery Benefit uses in Roller Lash, but it makes my lashes look snatched. What more could you want in a mascara?

ipsy Glam Bag ($10 monthly)

This beauty bag subscription service was one of my presents for Christmas last year, and oh my god, life-changing. It. Is. Life-changing. Okay, so maybe I'm being a little dramatic, but seriously getting my ipsy bag is something I look forward to every month. In each bag, you get five beauty products based on what beauty products you like, your complexion, etc. Not every bag is amazing, but there's a product I genuinely like, if not love, in every bag. For example, in my bag this month I loved the Dead Sea mud mask by Global Beauty Care and the Ofra Cosmetics liquid lipstick made especially for ipsy in the shade ipsy Unzipped (a mid-toned berry color). I'm telling you, it's amazing.

Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser ($4.99)

Also on my list of things that are amazing is this face wash. I have been looking for a really good daily cleanser for a while now, and I've finally found it! Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser is amazing because it's gentle on my skin but more effective and less drying than more intense face washes I've used. And the best part? You can get it at Target for super cheap.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Christmas Cookie ($18)

If you are looking for a dupe for Kylie Cosmetics Candy K liquid lipstick, this is it. But better. Okay, that was a little shady, I realize. I like Kylie Cosmetics, especially the shade Candy K (a peachy almost pinky nude), but Jeffree Star Cosmetics formula is way less drying. The shade Christmas Cookie (released with the 2017 Holiday Glitter Collection) is very close to Candy K, and the packaging is in this super pretty light pink bottle with ombre glitter. Just looking at the product makes me feel expensive.

This year was a great year for makeup, and I'm so pumped about seeing what beauty producst this next year holds for us. Here's to an even more beauty-ful 2018!
