It might have a redundant name, but one of Starbucks’ latest creations is actually pretty spectacular. The company recently released two new iced coffee drinks: the Iced Vanilla Bean Coconutmilk Latte and this, the Salted Cream Cold Foam Cold Brew. Could Starbucks have devised a less obnoxious name for this drink? Probably. But is it worth saying every time you pull up to the drive-thru? Absolutely.
The first sip of this drink is sweet with a hit of saltiness and a hint of caramel, and that’s when you know this is going to be something good. The next sip reveals the smooth, bitterness of the cold brew coffee underneath the cold foam. The juxtaposition of the bittersweet coffee with the rich sweet-and-salty foam is everything I didn’t realize I wanted in a coffee. It might honestly replace my go-to drink (a grande iced white chocolate mocha with two pumps of raspberry, no whip. Yes, I'm that girl.), which is saying something because my go-to is super, super sweet. The Salted Cream Cold Foam Cold Brew isn’t super sweet, so much as perfectly balanced between sweet and bitter. And it’s really amazing, so I definitely recommend you try it for yourself.
